Struggling with Shadows in the Old House

I saw a huge green-black snake. I was on the bed, in the master bedroom of my old house and was sitting over it and holding its head so that it does not bite. My mother was laying beside me and was using her mobile phone. When we called me dad, he said to call a particular "Sachin' who can call the animal control. My mom just called this man and had me explain everything to him, whilst I struggled to hold the snake from attacking. I repeatedly asked her to help me out, but she seemed unbothered. The fact that she was just calling people and was asking me to explain the situation to them was really making me angry and frustrated. Then the snake hissed and spit poison on my hand. After some time, the snake leapt towards the balcony, where my uncle's two children (my cousins), one girl (elder) and one boy (younger) were. I quickly went and grabbed the snake and shouted for them to leave. First my sister snuck out of the balcony and in this ruckus the snake did attack me, but it didn't bite me or rather shied away from biting me. Finally, I grabbed its head and asked my brother to runaway. In that moment I thought maybe I can just lock this snake in the balcony. He spit poison again but this time I started bashing his head and ultimately it was just oozing out poison and blood. I quickly shut the balcony door, and went and told my mom that I may have killed the snake.
Dreams involving snakes can often symbolize transformation, healing, or the need to confront hidden fears or challenges. Your dream presents a vivid narrative filled with complex emotions and relationships that offer deep insight into your current situation and feelings.
Setting the Scene: The dream takes place in your old house, suggesting a connection to your past and possibly unresolved issues or emotions from that time. The master bedroom, a personal and intimate space, indicates that the situation at hand might be tied to close relationships, particularly with family.
The Snake: The green-black snake can represent several things. Its colors – green often signifies growth or healing, while black can represent the unknown or fears. Holding the snake's head indicates that you are trying to control a challenging situation or emotion in your life. Your struggle to keep it from attacking symbolizes your efforts to manage fear or anxiety. The snake’s hiss and venomous spit can suggest that you may feel threatened by the situation, or perhaps you are dealing with feelings of being attacked verbally or emotionally in your waking life.
Interactions with Family: The presence of your mother in your dream and her seemingly apathetic behavior could reflect feelings of neglect or frustration in your relationship with her. Her distraction with her mobile phone may indicate a perceived lack of support or understanding during a challenging moment in your life. This disconnection might be intensifying your feelings of anger and frustration, which is evident in your plea for her help.
The call to your father and the mention of “Sachin” symbolize a desire for assistance or guidance. “Sachin” could represent a gateway to a solution or someone you feel could mediate between you and your fears. The act of explaining the situation to him while struggling to control the snake also emphasizes feelings of vulnerability, as if you are being forced to articulate your fears without proper preparation or support.
The Children: Your cousins' presence adds another layer to the dream, representing innocence and vulnerability. Your instinct to protect them from the snake displays your protective nature and concern for those you care about. The snake attacking you but not biting could signify a fear of personal harm that you feel is always present but not fully materializing. It might also reflect resilience; despite threats, you manage to contain the situation.
The Fight and Conclusion: Towards the end, when you decide to physically confront the snake, it illustrates your determination to face your fears head-on. The act of bashing the snake's head and shutting the balcony door is a powerful metaphor for taking control over a threatening situation in your life. Killing the snake or believing you may have killed it represents a pivotal point of transformation – perhaps a willingness to confront your fears and emerge victorious.
In summary, this dream reveals a lot about your internal struggles and relationships, primarily concerning responsibility, protection, and the need for support. It suggests that you are grappling with fears or challenges that require not only courage but also better communication and connection with your family. The resolution of the dream signifies your capability to take control of your life and overcome obstacles, even when feeling unsupported. Reflecting on these elements can provide clarity on what aspects of your waking life may need attention or transformation.
